Mary Tarpley began dancing under the tutelage of Frances Taylor in Durango, Colorado. She continued her training nationally and internationally, including six months at the Centre de Dans du Marais in Paris, and performed with companies including Aspen Santa Fe Ballet. She graduated with honors from Interlochen Arts Academy, where her performance roles included Sugar Plum Fairy. Mary earned her BA from University of Kent, at London's Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance. While in London, she also attended Royal Academy of Dance, completing the R.A.D. syllabus and exams and taking the renowned teacher training course. She has since danced for Compagnia Zappala (Italy), State Street Ballet, Ballet Santa Barbara and Creations Dance Theatre (LA), and was a Principal with City Ballet of Los Angeles and Invertigo Dance Theatre. Here in Chicago she dances with Chicago Dance Crash, Civic Ballet (Ruth Page) and Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre. Mary is thrilled to be part of the Russian Pointe team.
