Originally from Ukraine, Sasha is a textile artist who creates one-of-a-kind wearable art, as well as handpainted wall pieces and costumes. She works in silk, using her own technique incorporating features of traditional Indonesian batik, Japanese rozome and Chinese ink-painting. She has created many costumes for Boitsov Classical Ballet in Chicago, including those for their 2008 production of Henzel and Grettel. Sasha holds a degree in textile design from the Moscow Textile Academy, Department of Applied Arts, and has continued her education with classes at Art Institute of Chicago. With over 15 years of experience, she has participated at numerous art shows in Eastern Europe and the Chicago area, and maintains her own studio, Silkway Studio. Sasha also has extensive retail experience, and loves helping customers as part of Russian Pointe's customer service team.
