Who outside the world of dance can really imagine the excitement and, yes, intensity of attending a summer dance program? Just the sheer number of hours spent dancing is an important step in our development, not to mention the spectacular teachers and potential for professional contacts. Here, Russian Pointe's Stephanie Unger and Dustin Crumbaugh share their own summer intensive experiences.
In mid-June, Dustin heads for Springboard Danse Montreal, a three-week project for 60 U.S. and Canadian dancers working with seven renowned companies and several emerging choreographers. Keep track of Dustin on his developing blog!
Stephanie is staying local, attending intensives with modern companies The Seldoms and Thodos Dance Chicago, for a week each. Injured last summer, she has an insightful perspective about preparing for a safe and productive summer experience.
