What kind of information does RP collect?
When you place an order online or by phone, make a purchase in our boutique, or create an RP account, we may request information such as your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, credit card number, product preferences, interests, etc. We will keep a record of your purchases, preferences and interests.
Does RP share my information with other catalogs and companies?
We do not share your information.
Can I access or change my account information?
When you sign in to your account using your email address and password, you will be able to access and/or change the information in your account profile.
How does RP use my information?
Your contact information is essential as we process and fulfill your order. For example, we routinely send emails confirming your order status and shipment. When necessary, we may also contact you by phone regarding your order.
With attention to your product preferences and interests, we are better able to communicate with you about our products, services and promotions. (You have the option to ask us not to contact you with promotional communications – see #5 below.)
We may also use your information to:
- Help us improve our site design, products and services, and address any problems.
- Analyze trends and statistics.
- Protect the security and integrity of our website and business.
- Contact you if necessary.
How long does RP use my information?
We typically discard information about you when we no longer need it for the purposes outlined above–and we are not legally required to continue to keep it.
What are your data and communication rights?
RP periodically sends information, by mail or email, about product news and upcoming events. We also produce a monthly e-newsletter with all the latest RP news, plus fascinating interviews and a personal message from RP’s CEO, Aleksandra Efimova.
If you prefer not to receive communications of these kinds from us, you can change your preferences in your online account, and/or let us know by contacting us at the email address, mailing address or phone number below. (Be sure to include your full name and the email address you used when you registered online or made a purchase.)
If you ask us to remove your name and address from promotional lists, we will place you in a “do not contact” file. It may take up to 10 days to process an online, email or phone request, or 6-8 weeks to process a postal mail request, during which time you may continue to receive communications from RP. If you want to return to our newsletter and promotional mailing lists, simply log in to your account again to change your preferences, sign up again at our website or boutique, or contact us with the change.
Note: Whatever your account preferences, RP will use your contact information to confirm your order status and shipment, and may also contact you with other information or questions about your order.
If you are located in certain countries, including those that fall under the scope of the European General Data Protection Regulation (AKA the “GDPR”), data protection laws give you rights with respect to your personal data, subject to any exemptions provided by the law, including the rights to:
- Request access to your personal data;
- Request correction or deletion of your personal data;
- Object to our use and processing of your personal data;
- Request that we limit our use and processing of your personal data; and
- Request portability of your personal data.
You can access, correct, or delete your personal data in your account settings, but if you are unable to for any reason, or you would like to contact us about one of your other rights, scroll down to How to Contact RP to find out how to reach us.
EU individuals also have the right to make a complaint to a government supervisory authority.
Does RP protect children’s privacy?
RP is concerned about the privacy and safety of children when they use the Internet. The RP website is a general audience site, and not targeted to or intended for children. We will never knowingly request personally identifiable information online from anyone under the age of 13 without prior, verifiable parental consent.
How is my personal information kept secure?
RP uses certain physical, electronic, contractual and managerial safeguards to protect the security and privacy of your personal information. We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to protect your information when you enter it and it transmits to RP. You can make sure you are accessing our secure server before you submit personal financial information. At the lower left-hand corner of your browser, an unbroken key or a closed lock (depending upon your browser) indicates that SSL is active. You can also look at the URL or Location line of your browser; if you have accessed a secure server, the first characters of the address in that line should change from “http” to “https”.
