Spotlight Collection

Exquisite in both form and function, the Spotlight Collection combines the most advanced performance features with the spotlight-worthy elegance of traditionally handcrafted pointe shoes made entirely of natural materials. Russian Pointe’s revolutionary pre-arched construction mimics the shape of the foot on pointe, to highlight the arch while facilitating pointework and minimizing break-in. Pliable, long-lasting shanks follow your every move with support and grace. The hand-sculpted classical box and smoothly fitting heel provide the perfect embrace for the foot. In six widths, six shank options, a choice of V-cut or U-cut and a versatile array of model shapes, the Spotlight Collection earns a standing ovation for every performance. These are my first pointe shoes. They are very comfy and easy to move in.

I wore Suffolks, then a different, popular model of Russian Pointes, and finally I was consulted by the excellent customer service staff to go with Lumina. They told me to change the width as well. My Luminas (w3, Fm) are the best shoes for me so far. They are stable and allow me to do things in the center that I did not dare do before. I love the color too, and the soft elastics.
I was still getting too much pain in them, so I had to change my ouch pouch for a silicone pad by Merlet. That has solved the pain problem. I see that RP has nice silicone (for toe spaces, for example), and maybe they could add to their collection of pads a silicone one, for those who do not do well with the ouch pouch type with the seam.

Amazing pointe shoes! I have strong feet that break in shoes very fast, and I find that these shoes last 1-2 months, and then after jet-gluing the tip of the box, another 1-2 months. I wear 5x width, but I wet the sides to make more of a 5.5x to 6x width! I love that they come in up to 6 widths. They are very moldable if you have strong feet and wet them a little bit; would not suggest for weak feet or people that are just starting to go en pointe (although everyone is different!). These are very hard shoes compared to many other brands. A lot of girls at my studio also wear these shoes, so they fit many feet. The pre-built-in arch is helpful for heightening my low arch and the drawstring is also very helpful for adjusting! They come in great quality. The price is also very suitable for such hard shoes (other brands that have hard shoes can be $100+). Overall, a great shoe that seems to work for many dancers! (But please get fitted professionally to see if these shoes are right for you).
